Vik has over twenty years of experience spanning venture capital, private equity and information technology consulting. As a Partner with Cypress Growth Capital, his responsibilities span all aspects of the firm’s investment activities including identifying promising potential companies, conducting due diligence and providing ongoing support to portfolio companies.
Prior to joining the Cypress team in 2012, Vik spent three years with the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF), a $200 Million state-sponsored venture capital fund. The first decade of his career, Vik worked in the information technology field as a business consultant to Fortune 500 companies. When he’s not enjoying time with his wife (Geetha) and two daughters (Maya – 7, Aria – 5), he serves on the Board of Directors of the SMU Southwest Venture Forum, the US – India Chamber of Commerce and the University of Texas – Dallas Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. He is a frequent guest lecturer and panelist on entrepreneurial topics at SMU, TCU and the University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a Master of Business Administration from SMU University, with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies and Strategy, and a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Texas at Dallas. Vik is a recipient of Dallas Business Journal (DBJ) 40 Under 40 award, DBJ Minority Business Leader Award, D CEO’s 2019 Mergers and Acquisitions Awards – Capital Provider of the Year and SMU Cox School of Business Alumni Award for his work with Cypress and the community.
